With gas prices on the rise between 2002 and 2006, the purpose of this project was to create an inexpensive alternative for student transportation in an urban environment while creating a fun and invigorating experience.
We called our creation the Urban Stealth. This 12-volt rechargeable battery-powered electric skateboard with 12-inch rubber tires and a 300-watt motor would allow students to easily and quickly explore the city terrain with a simple hand control to brake and control speed. The LED headlight on the front of the board enables the user to ride at night. And the open nature of the board allows students to easily hop aboard with a loaded backpack or portfolio case.
